Who Are We?

The dream was not only an image on our minds... And our steps were not only on one direction. But the issue that we are going through is an extension of many dreams; the aim behind each one of them is "the Student".

That was only the starting point, which was a promising dream that we swear to accomplish it for them... The students.... And for a homeland with huge young manpower... That's how our dream raised up, to unify all our directions and to fuse all of us on one patchwork to accomplish our goal...

With the rapid advancements in the field of information technology in the Kingdom of Bahrain, which is obvious in the implementation of the newest hardware and software within the government and private organizations, the College of Information Technology Society (COITS) finds it important to educate and prepare the youth, the dynamo and the wheel of development in our society about the issues and obstacles that are associated with this great advancement, by updating them with the most recent development on the IT field and the available solutions along with the professional certificates that could benefit the IT students. And that drove COITS into organizing the IT Symposium in its third version “Secure Data … Secure Life”, which is considered an extension of the success of the previous two versions under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Ibrahim Bin Mohammed Janahi, President of the University of Bahrain.

مع التطور الذي تشهده تقنية المعلومات .. وازدهار مملكة البحرين تكنولوجيا، الذي نلمسه في اتجاه معظم وزارات ومؤسسات الدولة لتطوير اقسام تقنية المعلومات بوحداتها .. حري بنا أن نعد شباب الوطن المبدع .. المورد الحيوي .. ودينامو عجلة التنمية .. فنثقفهم بما يستجد على الساحة التقنية من وسائل وطرائق وشهادات لنكون في أتم الاستعداد لمواجهة تحديات العصر نظرا لما يعانيه العالم اليوم من تبعات للأزمة الاقتصادية .. وعلى ذلك نرجو من المولى القدير ان تكون جمعية كلية تقنية المعلومات قد وفقت في اختيار "حماية المعلومات "Information Security و"استمرارية المؤسسات Business Continuity" كمحاور ينطلق بها مؤتمر تقنية المعلومات "Secure Data.. Secure Life “الذي يعد امتدادا لنجاح سابقيه. بحلته الثالثة و ذلك برعاية كريمة من سعادة الدكتور إبراهيم بن محمد جناحي، رئيس جامعة البحرين.

سائلين الله عز و جل أن تعم فائدة ملتقانا على جميع الطلبة و المهتمين، و أن يؤدي دورًا توعويا يساهم بتثقيف المجتمع من الناحية التقنية.

Goal:

أهداف الملتقى:

•Introducing students to some major issues in the IT environment and their consequences on the Business.
•Presenting e-crimes and ways to detect and prevent them.
•Introducing students to the categories of information security.
•Train the students on how to act against such crimes on a professional level, that would give them a great experience and will help them dealing with such situations in real life.
•To present various professional certificates which are known worldwide ranging from “Information Security” to “Business Continuity”.

•تعريف الطلبة بالازمات التقنية وضررها على الأعمال التجارية.
•استعراض الجرائم الإلكترونية وطرق التصدي لها.
•التعريف بمجالات حماية المعلومات.
•تدريب الطلبة بكيفية التعامل مع هذه الازمات والجرائم بطريقة إحترافية تهيئهم لخوض هذا التحدي في سوق العمل التقني.
•عرض عدد من الشهادات الإحترافية المعترف بها عالميا في مجالات تخطي كوارث تقنية المعلومات ومحاربة الجرائم الإلكترونية.

محاور الملتقى:

•Day One: Information Security - In day one, a group of experts in “Information Security” matter will discuss how to secure information against various threats, and will discuss the some real life stories of hackers. In addition, a documentary film will be presented in one of the workshops about “Information Security”, in order to introduce a new way of learning that differ from the traditional ways in teaching. Finally, Microsoft privileged IT Symposium 3 with hosting the challenge of “Imagine Cup”.

•Day Two: Business Continuity - In day two, the subject of “Business Continuity” will be discussed by specialists in this matter, along with the techniques followed worldwide to recover from disasters. The topic will be supported by real life stories of success on how to deal with disasters along. Moreover, a variety of professional certificates will be discussed by experts to show their significance in the real world, and that is to encourage IT students to broaden their knowledge and not to rely on their university certificates only. Another workshop will be held in day two, delegates will work together in groups to achieve some goals and will be rewarded.

•اليوم الأول: سيناقش مجموعة من الخبراء في اليوم الأول كيفية حماية المعلومات من الجرائم الإلكترونية والإجراءات المتخذه في مملكة البحرين للحد من هذه الجرائم،وسيتم إثراء الموضوع بقصص من الواقع وتجارب ناجحة للسيطرة على مجموعة من الجرائم الإلكترونية. اضافة إلى فيلم وثائقي سيعرض في أحد الورش يتحدث عن (حماية المعلومات) بهدف تحصيل أكبر فائدة ممكنة للطلبة بعيدا عن الأساليب التعليمية التقليدية. وسيميز ملتقى تقنية المعلومات الثالث تدشين مسابقة كأس الخيال العالمية التي تقدمها شركة مايكروسوفت.

•اليوم الثاني: في اليوم الثاني سيتم مناقشة الازمات والكوارث الإلكترونية وذلك بمساعده متحدثين مختصين بالمجال، اضافة إلى التقنيات المتبعة عالميا لإدارة الأزمات والكوارث واستمرارية المؤسسات . إضافة إلى طرح مجموعة من الشهادات المعترف بها عالميا في المجالين المعنيين وتوضيح أهميتها من قبل متحدثين حاملين لهذه الشهادات ولهم باع في العمل في المجال المعني من أجل تشجيع طلبة التقنية على توسيع أفقهم العلمي وعدم الإقتصار على الشهادة الجامعية. وسيختم اليوم بورشة عمل بالتعاون مع أساتذة مختصة من جامعة البحرين سيتم فيها العمل بشكل جماعي.
